Nick was born and raised in Nelson\, WI and graduated Alma High School in 2010. He has since lived in Winona where he studied Music at Winona State University. The band now features a full lineup including Tyler Steinley\, Andy Bauer\, Seamus St. Claire\, and Dante De Grazia. The group just recently played South By Southwest in Austin\, TX for the first time and are hard at work on their debut full length album with help from producer Mike Noyce (Bon Iver\, Moon Ruin\, Tallest Man on Earth). DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, May 26\, 7:30pm\n  \nErik Koskinen’s Burning the Deal (June 28\, 2019\, Real Phonic Records/Tone Tree Music) is steeped in American roots and traditions.  \n\n\nBorn in Fort Collins\, Colorado\, raised in Northern Michigan and upper New York state\, then living in urban Minneapolis and now\, rural Minnesota\, Koskinen grew up with the rhythms of weather\, factory towns\, and farmlands. Koskinen worked in construction for years as he developed his music career\, and he now resides on a farm near where he owns a recording studio in Cleveland\, Minnesota\, population 717.  \nOf Burning the Deal\, he says\, “It’s not only Americana music. I learned how to play blues music. I learned how to play country music\, and how to play folk\, bluegrass\, jazz\, whatever. I learned how to play American music.” The nine songs share a stripped-down\, almost naked quality\, but complexities lie just under their skin. Part of that depth can be attributed to the top-notch players Koskinen recruited: Greg Leisz (Jackson Browne\, Beck\, Joni Mitchell) on lap and pedal steel and mandolin\, plus the rhythm section of drummer Jay Bellerose (Alison Krauss and Robert Plant\, Willie Nelson) and bassist Jennifer Condos (Don Henley\, Marc Cohn\, Ray Lamontagne). That’s why it’s “flyway\,” see\, not “fly away.” A flyway is an actual thing. \nFlyway Film Festival’s mission is to bring the best in independent film to the Lake Pepin area of Wisconsin and Minnesota for the purposes of cultural enrichment\, community-building\, arts education\, and to inspire the next generation of filmmakers. \nProgram Schedule & Details:\nThe Eleventh Annual Flyway Film Festival will take place October 19-21\, 2018 in Pepin\, Stockholm\, and Alma\, Wisconsin. \nFriday\, October 19: Opening Night Party at Twin Bluff Farms in Stockholm\, WI\, 6pm – 11pm.\nTICKETS & INFO \nSaturday\, October 20: Films begin at 11:00 AM at the WideSpot\, the Minema\, and the Big River Theatre. The last films of the night begin at 9:00 PM.\nFILM LIST \nThe Saturday night party is at the Pickle Factory from 9pm – 1am.\nPARTY INFO \nSunday\, October 21: Films begin at 11:00 AM at the Minema and the Big River Theatre. The closing night films begin at 4:00 PM.
